Langbank
Two-aspect colour light signal number P59 stands at the east end of Langbank station on the Inverclyde line. Just beyond the signal is an emergency crossover, worked locally from a mechanical ground frame. The sign at the top of the signal's identification plate indicates that this is a semi-automatic signal. Normally the signal operates automatically with the passage of trains, but the signalman is able to replace the aspect to 'danger' when the ground frame needs to be used. The driver of a train passing this signal at 'danger' in accordance with the rules must first ascertain that the ground frame is not in use. (Photo taken 26 January 2009.)
